As the end of summer nears, many people are hurrying up to get one last trip to the beach or lake house. For a few of the Vancouver Canucks players, their end of the summer trip had a little more competition. And, for a good reason.

Derek Dorsett and Sven Baertischi of the Vancouver Canucks, along with forty additional anglers participating in the 11th annual Fishing for Kids Tournament at the West Coast Fishing Club in Haida Gwaii, British Columbia (BC). They were raising money for the Canucks Autism Network (CAN); a network that provides sports and arts programs for those living with autism in BC.

This year’s tournament raised $820,000 for the CAN. While this year’s proceeds benefited the CAN, the tournament is proud to have raised over $7 million that has gone to various BC Children’s Charities.
