Drew & Brittney Brees Work Hard & Have BIG FUN!

Saints Quarterback Drew Brees and his wife Brittany have a lot of fun when not raising millions for charity and enjoying their family life. The dynamic duo enjoy dressing up as characters in the movies they go see.  They are quite convincing on their date nights. At Jamie Foxx’s movie “White House Down,” they dressed as secret agents with ear pieces as they talked to one another into their sleeve mics.  Other date nights are pictured below.

Drew and Brittany Brees met in college. They have fun together and make a difference in the lives of many through spearheading the The Brees Foundation which was founded in 2003. The foundation’s mission statement notes they are dedicated “to improving the quality of life for cancer patients, and provide care, education and opportunities for children and families in need.”

According to their foundation’s website, they have collectively committed and/or contributed more than $17,000,000 to charitable causes and academic institutions in the New Orleans, San Diego and West Lafayette/Purdue communities. Some of The Brees Dream Foundation’s most recent commitments include:

  • Partnering with Nike and the Allstate Sugar Bowl to support the city of New Orleans and Mayor Mitch Landrieu in providing funding as part of $23 million in improvements to transform Joe Brown Park into a world-class, regional park to enable children and families to be healthy and active.
  • Contributing $1,000,000 in funding for the renovation project at the American Cancer Society Patrick F. Taylor Hope Lodge.
  • Contributing $295,000 for the “Peek-A-Boo Camera Project,” which will include 51 cameras at Ochsner Medical Center (42 NICU, 6 LDR and 3 antepartum).
  • Contributing $100,000 to complete funding for the GW Carver Field of Dreams.
  • Contributing a total of $150,000 equally between KIPP Charter Schools and Teach for America.
  • Contributing $80,000 to Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego.
  • Contributing $50,000 to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana.
  • Contributing $50,000 to St. Michael’s Special School.

Bears Quarterback Jay Cutler Has

Jumped the Broom!

On June 8th, actress Kristin Cavallari and Bears QB Jay Cutler officially began their journey together as a married couple. The two celebrated their marriage ceremony with family and friends at Woodmont Christian Church in Nashville, Tennessee. Vanderbilt University, being where Jay spent his collegiate career, most certainly expresses his close ties to Nashville. Kristin wasted no time letting the world know that she was officially Mrs. Jay Cutler as she tweeted “I’m officially Kristin Elizabeth Cutler” shortly after they received their marriage license the day before the actually ceremony took place. Jay looked very debonair in a well-tailored gray suit, white shirt and gray tie and their 10 month old son Camden could not have looked more adorable matching his father. Kristin looked absolutely ravishing in a strapless white gown with a long veil designed by Monique Lhuillier.

Serena Williams Crowned the Queen of France After Being Dethroned Eleven Years Ago

After an 11 year hiatus from being crowned the Queen of France (well, at least when it comes to the tennis court), Serena Williams reclaimed her throne, winning her second French Open since 2002. Her first victory came against none other than her older sister Venus Williams. With this being her 16th grand slam championship, she is the current active women’s all-time leader and sixth on the overall all-time women’s grand slam list.

This victory also lands her in the record books of being the second oldest woman at age 31 to win a major title. As the saying goes, “you only get better with time.” Paris natives will be happy to know that the Roland Garros Trophy may reside in France as Serena has a home in Paris and spends a lot of time there. As you can see, Serena lets France know that the Eiffel Tower isn’t the only thing that lights up the sky at night.

Clippers Star Chris Paul Has Been Hitting the Green

cp3golfdoc

Chris Paul gives new meaning  to the oh so used term “Gone Fishing” when it comes to NBA teams who have been eliminated from the NBA playoffs. Instead of fishing, Chris Paul has “Gone Golfing” and with who might you ask…..? Former U.S. President Bill Clinton. Underneath it all, Paul may be trying to relieve the stress of being knocked out of the first round of the playoffs; but it seems that Chris Paul is no stranger to the green. And being seen at tee time with various celebrities is not uncommon. Aside from the former president, Paul was just recently  pictured with P.G.A champion Tiger Woods and rock star Kid Rock at Tiger Woods celebrity golf and gambling event the Tiger Jam.

In early July, Chris Paul and his CP3 foundation will be hosting their own celebrity golfing event the Celebrity Poker Tournament and Golf Classic. This event is one of many that the CP3 Foundation hosts in order to raise funds to provide scholarships for kids wanting to attend Chris’s alma mater Wake Forest University.

Florida Marlins A.J Ramos BEAT by Eggs?

Ramos tried to eat a 12-egg omelet at the Broken Yolk in San Diego the other day.  He was quoted saying “It was really good with the chili and everything, but when you eat that much of anything it started tasting pretty bad.” He said, “I saw a girl on [the wall], so I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m doing it.’ She wasn’t big or anything. She was pretty good looking, too. I’d hate to take her on a date. She might eat more than me.” The restaurant reports four hundred out of about 10,000 have successfully finished the omelet. Ramos did not. It’s the potatoes, dude. That’s where they get you.
