Q: You reached 100 career steals against Chicago, which was considered your comeback game from injury, what did you learn from that experience?
Monique: Stay solid, keep your head down, and keep working! Trust in God; believe in yourself.

Q: Where do you want to take your basketball career?
Monique: I want to max out and reach my potential with basketball! I would like to play the game for at least 10 or more years, and I know that basketball is a steppingstone for whatever will be next in my journey.

Of course, you are an inspiration for others who come up behind you…
Q: How do you inspire young girls and women who aspire to be in the WNBA but don’t have the standard layout of steps, etc.? What do they do?
Monique: I encourage people to get in the gym and work on their game. No matter what your background is or where you come from, if you can hoop, there’s no denying that. Getting exposure by playing in tournaments and having highlight reels of your game also.

Q: Do you have any suggestions on how to bridge the gap of support between fans of the WNBA and the NBA?
Monique: People taking the time out to actually watch games and even attend a game if a team is in your city. Being intentional to connect with your local teams and even players on teams who might inspire you and that you feel that you can relate to.
