Just as the current seasonal shows are going on hiatus, I was introduced to Ayesha and Steph Curry’s new couples game show that premiered February of this year titled, About Last Night. Season One of this 8-episode show is available on HBOMax, averaging 25 minutes per episode and featuring familiar couples such as Loni Love and James Welsch, Niecy Nash and Jessica Betts, Hazel Renee and Draymond Green to name a few.

The show’s host, Ayesha Curry, and the house bartender/score keeper Steph Curry, asks each couple relationship questions to determine just how well they know each other but the questions range from what is your partners wedding go-to dance, to if you have a mute button when would your partner choose to use it on you, and the multiple choice answers don’t give any reprieve from potential sofa sleeping. Each couple is playing for a charity of their choice, with the winning couple receiving a $20,000 reward gifted to their chosen charity, along with an additional $5,000 that the winners can earn for beating Ayesha and Steph in the lightening round appropriately named, Beat the Curry’s. Within five minutes of watching episode one, you’re already laughing and waiting for who will say what next.

Each round, you learn more about the relationships as the answers most definitely always come with the most hilarious back-story. Stories that remind you that although these couple are well-known, they are in relationships that are no different than the common relationship out of the spot-light.  A date night out for the couples, with no shortage of drinks or a good time.  The Curry’s are definitely on to something with this modern version of the classic game show from the 70’s & 80’s, Tattletale.  The uncensored nature of the show is fun and Ayesha and Steph do a good job setting up a space that is comfortable with cozy love seats, a bar and laughter.  I understand the Curry’s to be a little busy recently with the play-offs, but we will be looking forward to season two.
