If you haven’t seen Birth of A Nation yet you should. Not only is the film telling of a time in history that was impactful for African Americans, it is critically acclaimed, took Sundance by storm, and at one time had Oscar nods but the film was executive produced by Tony Parker and Michael Finley. The tandem were among the very first investors in the film.

Tony Parker executive produced Meet the Blacks and Amateur Night while Michael Finley’s Follow Through Productions had a hand in The Butler a Lee Daniels film and The Benefactor with Richard Gere.

Parker and Finley aren’t the only athletes that invested in the film that Nate Parker an actor now writer, director, and producer wrangled over $10 million to make. Derrick Brooks who owns Hit55 Ventures also invested in the film. The first production for this company.

We would love to hear your thoughts on the film!
