Thanks to Alderman Roberto Maldonado’s 11 year old son Javier Baez now has a street in Chicago named after him.  Maldonado’s 11-year-old son plays Little League baseball, his team was captivated by the Cubs’ quest for the World Series so he suggested Javier as the namesis for the sign. As this year’s co-MVP, and a Puerto Rican Javier was a perfect choice.  Javier was born in Puerto Rico but raised in Jacksonville, FL.

The street is located in Chicago’s Humboldt Park area the center of Chicago’s Puerto Rican community.

Fresh off playing for Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic Javier spent his off day alongside 500 fans as well as the Cubs’ 2016 World Series trophy unveiling “Javier ‘Javy’ Baez Way”.
