Kobe Bryant is both a Hero and a Villain so he aptly named his limited edition watch after his two on-court personas. Kobe says he came up with the name at the start of the year.  He told Erin Andrews at the launch of the watch, “The philosophy around the Hero Villain is that it embodies both of those things.  It’s not a black or white thing, it’s not a this or that.  We’re all both hero and villain. Then it became how do we carry that philosophy through everything that we do?”  Kobe is doing so in the form of a $20,400 limited edition watch.  The watch design includes a ceramic case, gold screws, and a snakeskin strap.  There is a gold eyed snake with a visible tongue under the glass face of the watch, absolute Black Mamba fashion.

Kobe admits that he wasn’t the designer of the watch but that he did sit down and help come up with the idea for the latest collaboration.  This is Kobe’s third collaboration with Hublot.  In 2013 there was the Black Mamba edition and in 2015 the Vino watch.

Hublot the LVMH owned Swiss watchmaker has a commitment to excellence and the “Art of Fusion” with the sports world according Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe.  The stylish brand is no stranger to athlete collaborations having done so with their King Power and Classic Fusion lines including Brand Ambassadors Dwyane Wade, Usain Bolt, the Dallas Cowboys, as well as the Chelsea Football Club.
