Help at home, support in our work, a feeling of togetherness?!?! This is exactly what LeanIn.Org along with the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) is emphasizing through a series of public service campaigns. As wives, mothers, business women, and trail blazers that make it happen wearing multiple hats we couldn’t be happier!!
This campaign allows some of the biggest names across the two leagues to share practical tips for men and women to feel more confident in doing their part fostering equality in our homes, with our children, and at the work place. Across social media we have begun to see NBA All-Stars such as Chris Bosh, Stephen Curry, Al Horford, LeBron James, Kyle Lowry, Dwyane Wade, and Russell Westbrook along with WNBA All-Stars Sue Bird, Swin Cash, Elena Delle Donne, and Skylar Diggins “show the world they’re for equality” and women to “celebrate men leaning in for equality” by posting with the hashtag #LeanInTogether. Truly making our partnerships teamwork.
“Men should support their wives and daughters at home and their female colleagues in the workplace, not just because it’s the right thing to do, but because it’s great for them,” said Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook COO and founder of LeanIn.Org. “From stronger marriages and healthier, happier children to better outcomes at work, the benefits of men leaning in for equality are huge.”
