Carmelo and Dwyane Wade have plenty of history together, from their early 2000s draft days to playing side by side on Team USA. Now, they’re linking up again but instead of running plays, they’re showing off their AT&T connection.
If you missed it, the Miami Heat recently honored Dwyane Wade with a statue outside Kaseya Center. The tribute was supposed to capture Wade’s signature one legged championship pose, but instead, it looks like a stretched-out action figure with questionable proportions and an oddly shaped face. Fans immediately roasted it, saying it looks more like a default 2K MyPlayer than an actual tribute to one of the greatest shooting guards of all time You can watch the full commercial here.
While Carmelo looks bewildered by their awful tribute statues, Wade eggs it on, acting like the statues are flawless. It’s the kind of self-aware humor that makes the ad even better.
