Philadelphia Phillies Bryce Harper delivered quiet the surprise on April 14th with the help of his teammate Trea Turner.
As the Harper family of five expands to six, Bryce and Kayla decided to do a heartwarming reveal that incorporated fans in their growing unit. To help pull off this surprise Bryce called in his teammate Turner to assist him. Turner’s task was to hand Harper a bat in coordination with the color of baby number 4’s gender, which he received through a text from Harpers’ doctor.
“Pretty cool, pretty special day,” Turner said, via MLB.com. “I was confused at first, but I think he wanted to share that moment with us. I think it was pretty cool. He’s a pretty creative guy. He let us know in our team meeting. He kind of wanted to share the moment with everybody. He was nice enough to ask me to do it. I thought it was a nice moment for him and his family. I think they were all watching here from up top.”
Just seconds before Harper headed to the field Turner handed him a blue bat! Kayla jumped with excitement as she saw her husband step to the plate revealing what she was expecting.
The new addition to the Harper family will even out the family who has two girls and one boy.
