Iconic Louisiana rapper Lil Wayne is taking on a new role, trading beats for playbooks, as he joins NFL GameDay Morning on NFL Network.
On Sunday, Nov. 10, the news broke during the halftime in Munich, Germany as the New York Giants and Carolina Panthers went head to head. Wayne’s first appearance will be on Sunday, Nov. 17, and he’ll be a weekly guest alongside Rich Eisen, Steve Mariucci, Kurt Warner, and Gerald McCoy.
While joining the NFL GameDay Morning team is a new venture for Wayne, it’s far from his first experience in sports commentary. Wayne is known for being a diehard Green Bay Packers fan and has contributed his fair share to the sports world with his hit single Green & Yellow (Packers theme song). The Grammy award-winning artist has previously appeared as a guest on various sports talks shows such as Fox Sports 1s Undisputed with Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe, and even hosting his own sports podcast Young Money Radio.
This lastest role allows Tunechi to bring his unique flair and in-depth football knowledge to the NFL Network’s audience in a way that goes beyond music.
Fans can catch Lil Wayne’s debut on NFL GameDay Morning at 9 a.m. ET this Sunday on NFL Network.
