In a commanding performance on February 9, 2025, quarterback Jalen Hurts led the Philadelphia Eagles to a 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, securing the franchise’s first championship since 2017. Hurts was named Super Bowl MVP after amassing over 300 yards of total offense and scoring three touchdowns.
This huge win was not only accompanied by crowd cheers and glee; the night’s celebration didn’t end there. Jalen Hurts capped off his Super Bowl triumph with a heartfelt moment—sharing a perfect kiss with his fiancée, Bry Burrows. But who is Bry Burrows?
Bryonna “Bry” Rivera Burrows, the pair met while attending the University of Alabama. Even though they were an on and off couple he knew from the beginning that she was the one for him stating to Essence “I knew a long time ago, I mean, to this point in my life, that’s an irreplaceable feeling. I think that’s what allowed us to get to where we are now.
Bry Burrows, is accomplished herself she has been with IBM for about four years. Starting off as a sales executive and software financing leader and moving up the ranks becoming an artificial intelligence partner.
She sets herself apart as a minority in tech by working with different organizations to help bridge the gap. Burrows is deeply committed to mentorship and diversity in the workplace. In 2022, she served as a coach for IBM’s 8-week Accelerate program, helping minority undergraduate students prepare for the business world. Reflecting on the experience, she shared, “It was the best time speaking and coaching breakout sessions… the future is in good hands!”
She has also spoken at the Manderson Women in Business talk and participated in a 2021 Diversity & Inclusion panel, a cause she’s passionate about. “D & I is deeper than gender, skin color, or nationality,” she noted. “It’s about lived experiences that define who we are and better our community and workplace.”
Burrows and Hurts confirmed their engagement in September of 2024 so wedding bells will be ringing very soon for the MVP couple.
