The Chicago Blackhawks have struggled at times with dealing with social issues. However, the team’s captain, Jonathan Toews, is doing something right. He is offering up a VIP experience plus some hang-out time with him in exchange for a donation to The Kitchen Community.

The Kitchen Community is a non-profit organization that builds what they call “Learning Gardens,” in schools around the country – specifically in under-served schools. A Learning Garden aims to engage outdoor classrooms that connect kids to real food, increase academic achievement, and drive community engagement. Essentially, they seek to teach kids how to plant, grow, water, and harvest along with teaching kids good eating habits and to encourage kids to have a healthier response to stress.

Jonathan Toews and goalie Corey Crawford have worked with the Kitchen Community in the past. For just $10 you can enter yourself into the drawing to win a trip to Chicago on January 10th when the Hawks take on the Detroit Red Wings. Of course you can always donate more to get extra entries and extra rewards like t-shirts, signed pucks, and in-game prizes. To participate, go to prizeo.com/blackhawks.

You can get a lot if you win in exchange for a $10 donation. The main prize includes: airfare for two to Chicago plus a hotel stay, entry to the morning skate, lunch with Toews, car service to the game, tickets to the game against the Red Wings on January 10th, and another meetup with Toews after the game. It seems like a pretty awesome way to help the Kitchen Community reach their goal of reaching 1 million students by 2020.
