When Sports and Entertainment combine and include a financial investment that means something major is brewing.  Twenty three celebrities are in a deal to expand the reach of UFC.  Ari Emmanuel, co-chief executive of William Morris Endeavor-International Management Group says that the UFC is no longer a niche sport. According to the Wall Street Journal Emmanuel enlisted celebrities that he “knew to be fans of the sport” to join the UFC ownership group.
Included in the investors are Venus and Serena Williams.  The sisters have dominated the tennis scene for close to 2 decades now and have not let that dominance stop them from taking over anything else. In 2009 the sisters paired off the tennis court to purchase a stake in the Miami Dolphins, making them the first African-American females to have (limited) ownership in a NFL franchise and now they’re doubling down in the UFC.
